THE AUBREY® STORY
A pioneer in natural hair and skin care, Aubrey Organics founder, Aubrey Hampton, paved the way for a fledging natural products industry in the 1960s by making plant-based, natural beauty products on his own terms. In 1967, he made the rounds to New York City health food stores and salons with just two products he sold door to door: a fragrant, therapeutic bath soak and a protein-based conditioner made in his own kitchen. From these small beginnings, he ushered in a new era in natural hair and skin care with the multi-national company that still bears his name.
INNOVATION FIRST
Through the years, Aubrey Organics list of industry “firsts” is impressive. We were first to develop a product line with organic rose hip seed oil from Rosa Mosqueta, a South American mountain rose, and first to introduce product lines featuring such beneficial ingredients as milk protein, jojoba oil, evening primrose oil, Matcha green tea and sea buckthorn oil.
Today, nearly every natural products retailer in the U.S. carries Aubrey products, which are also sold throughout Canada, Europe, Asia and South America. In 1994, Aubrey Organics’ manufacturing plant was certified as an organic processor by Quality Assurance International, the first beauty products manufacturer to be certified organic.
Aubrey Organics was acquired by Nutraceutical in February of 2016. We proudly continue the legacy of this groundbreaking company that will be celebrating its 50th year as an industry leader in 2017.
