    Food Supplement with Folic Acid and Vitamin B12

    5-MTHF (5-Methyltetrahydrofolate) is a form of folate, a water-soluble B vitamin that occurs naturally in foods. Folate deficiency is known to be a common vitamin deficiency due to food processing, food selection, and intestinal disorders.

    Biochemically, 5-MTHF supports cellular perception and response, methylation processes and many enzymatic reactions. It is also linked to lower homocysteine levels and the production of red blood cells, which support cardiovascular health. Folate also aids the body in metabolism of protein and the formation of DNA and RNA.

    Our bodies can convert 5-MTHF into any of the other active forms of folate and is more readily bioavailable than folic acid; therefore, some individuals may respond better to it.
